Is it something in the water or something in the air?

If there’s any state that can give Oklahoma and Texas a run for their money when it comes to having crazy politicians unafraid to speak their mind, it’s Colorado.  I’d say it was because of all the “smoke” in the air, but these jokers have been around since long before pot went legal in the state.

For example, take Gordon Klingenschmidtt — please!  I’ll leave off making fun of his name, after all, a guy can’t help the moniker with which he’s born, although a smart person might consider going to court and changing it.  Let’s stick instead to this ex-Navy chaplain’s reputation for playing fast and loose with the truth and acting like a spoiled brat in public.  GK has been known to call down biblical curses on people with whom he disagrees.  He thinks that “Obamacare causes cancer,” that the Bible commands people to own guns in order to “defend themselves against left-wing crazies,” and that the FCC is allowing demonic spirits to “molest and visually rape your children”.  And yet, in spite of all that, he’s been selected to be the Republican candidate to represent his district in the state congress.

I think that’s either very, very funny or very, very scary.  Since he’ll probably lose in the fall, I’m going with funny — for now.  Check back later if you want to see if I’ve changed my mind.

Be seeing you.
